Amcrest PorHD IP2M-841 FAILED TO ENABLE TWO WAY AUDIO

Post by mhauck »

No mater what I have tried I'm find that the Mic to speak with someone in the room through the Android App is not working and I get a error message from the app that it FAILED TO ENABLE TWO WAY AUDIO from the Amcrest View Pro app. It will also not work with my Blue Iris software.
I can turn on the Mic in the room to hear whats going on I just cant talk back. This is on the Amcrest PorHD IP2M-841

Has anyone found a fix for this?

Thanks

Hello mhauck,

Have you tested this feature from a computer through the ip address of the camera? I think this is a issue specific to the phone you are using as other users are able to use this feature without any issue. Please try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

I was having a similar problem. I was able to trace it down to the Blue Iris program.

When the Blue Iris program was on and streaming the main stream on my local network, then it blocked all "outside to device audio connections". In other words, Smartphone mic to device speaker would not work only when Blue Iris was on. I still have not found a way to get around this so that i can record with blue iris while also being able to communicate from smartphone mic to ipcam speaker. It's as if when Blue Iris connects, it blocks all other connections to the ipcam's speaker. This doesn't happen with other software/methods of connecting with the ipcam (ex: iphone app, and local IP address can stream video, audio (both ways) at the same time and be fine), only have a problem with Blue Iris so far.

I have IP2M-841 cameras with NVR4116E - I cannot get the microphone to talk to any of the cameras. I try with iPhone aecrest app. I can hear from the camera - BUT I cannot speak through the camera.

When I added all of the cameras separately into the Amcrest App (so that the NVR was its own login and the cameras were their own login) at 1 time I could get the microphone to speak through the camera - but only when on local network. Would not work out of the house.

Now for some reason, I can't get it to work anymore and get the error failed to enable 2 way audio.

Any ideas or assistance - most appreciated.

Hello s2kohio ,

Cameras when added to NVR, you cannot use the app to speak . But when added separately as a camera it should work. Sometimes while on cellular network on smartphones, slow connection can cause it to fail.
