Amcrest Camera and App as a Baby Monitor?

I have just bought an Amcrest IP2M-841W and was wondering if it's possible to use the camera and the app like a traditional baby monitor? The main things I was wondering are:
1) When you have the app running, can you turn off the phone screen and have just the audio still playing (specifically for the iphone app). This would be to save battery power so that the screen doesn't have to be on the whole time.
2) Is there a feature for the audio where it will only turn on at a certain threshold?

Answers to your questions:
1-I have not found a way to keep the app audio portion working with the screen off. Once the app is minimized, it seems to basically cut connection.
2-Yes there are settings for the audio that you can setup for thresholds. Have to mess with the sensitivity and threshold settings in the audio section of the setup. I have my 4 setup so that if certain levels of sound happen, that it starts to auto record and also sends snapshots and recordings to my email as alerts.

I was wondering if you have tried (or could try something for me). There's an app called "Baby Monitor for IP". Does that app work with the Amcrest camera?
