960H Failed firmware...Possible to recover or perm brick?

Hi all,

I was in the process of updating the firmware on my 960H 8 channel DVR when it lost power. Now when it powers up all I get is the Amcrest Logo and nothing more. Taking the cover off and holding the reset button does nothing either. Is there a way to recover from a bad firmware flash? Thanks!

Hello rdplatts156,

Please hard reset by pressing the reset button near the heatsink inside the DVR box for several seconds. You will hear a beep sound while doing it. Hold it for 30 secs even while it beeps. If this does not help, please contact us for warranty replacement.
