Originally, earlier, I posted that 1 channel will not record motion. In all of my troubleshooting, I determined that the 1st channel will not record anything. I have moved the camera connection to a different channel on the dvr, and it records and motion detects normally, so it isn't the camera. I also verified that all the settings are set the same on all cameras. Next I turned off motion detect on camera1 and tried to have it record all the time, and made sure it was scheduled to record all the time and not just motion detect. It wont record on channel 1 no matter what I try. Any ideas? Im ready to toss this and get a new system...

Could be a corrupt setting. I don't know which DVR you have but have you tried resetting it to factory settings and starting over?

You can try doing a factory reset through the menu. Also check if the firmware is latest and update it. If that does not work, I would suggest you get the DVR replaced.
