NVR web UI only works on IE when port forwarded

NVR web UI only works on IE when port forwarded

Hello everyone. This is sort of an extension of a thread I started in the NVR forum. Figured I'd ask here for more exposure.

I have an NVR that is using port forwarding in order for cameras to be viewed outside the network.

-Using the iOS app, cameras/playback are visible, and everything works
-Use the desktop computer app, cameras/playback are visible, and everything works.
-Using the web UI, I can ONLY see the UI. No cameras (or playback) will load. Just keeps spinning

This is all on Chrome and Safari on MacOS, and Chrome and Edge for Windows 10.

However, I did manage to figure out that my setup DOES work ONLY when using Internet Explorer, after installing an Amcrest plugin (see link below for the plugin/app that IE asked to install before working).
