New AD410 Doorbell!

Post by GaryOkie »

Check out the specs on the new Amcrest AD410 doorbell...
https://support.amcrest.com/hc/en-us/ca ... 3132-AD410

2K res (2560x1920) with new support for H265 encoding. New support for 5Ghz WiFi. Its a different case design with no PIR sensor that I can tell (and no mention of it in the specs).

While a PIR sensor for minimizing false alarms is generally a big plus, the AD110 firmware was a maddening mess with dealing with two separate MD methods. They never quite got it right, especially if you were using other software other than SH to react to MD events.

I'm hoping that in place of PIR, the motion detection will use some AI capability to tell a bird, squirrel or car from a human at the very least. Even tripwire would be helpful.

I wasn't able to find any announcements/release dates - just the link above.

Smaller and looks like there is no Power info so I am going to guess that is going to Require less then the AD110 as I know that from the looks it seems to be like another I have seen that works with a 16vac 10va and seeing there is no talk about Required power maybe it is a Low Current unit.. Time will see. Hope to hear new owners ideas on quality and ease of Install for this unit..
Here to help the best I can.

The Lorex B451AJ Series (B451AJD-E for US) clearly shares hardware. Tech specs for the AD410 ( https://support.amcrest.com/hc/en-us/ar ... ons-AD410- ) and ( https://www.lorextechnology.com/downloa ... eet_R1.pdf ) look similar enough to me. I think they will be similar to the Dahua LincX2PRO series with 2k resolution instead of 1080p. I plan to try the Amcrest one if it comes out soon and permits RTSP streaming.

Good observation - I agree that both are based on the same Dahua hardware. (BTW - Lorex was purchased by Dahua 3 years ago).

There is no mention of RTSP support for the Lorex doorbell, and since it is only compatible with a few specific Lorex Fusion NVR's, it must not be. One promising feature that it does advertise is person detection, but in reading the reviews, I didn't see anyone comment on how well it worked.

The same situation may be with the Dahua "LincX2Pro" doorbell. Nothing I found mentioned RTSP support. If Amcrest is not able to add RTSP support for the AD410 that is usable by 3rd party systems, that is a show-stopper for my use.

I emailed the Amcrest product testing team a month ago asking if I could review the AD410 but received no response.

Thank you for drawing attention to this upcoming product that looks promising.

I ordered a B451AJD-E doorbell camera. I will try to connect via RTSP once I receive it. I think it might have RTSP even though I cannot find it listed. If it does not have RTSP, I might not keep it and then try the AD410 when it is available.

The ASH26-W floodlight, which lacks the web interface my other Amcrest cameras have, has RTSP streaming. I also found I can connect to my ASH26-W with the desktop application SmartPSS ( https://dahuawiki.com/SmartPSS ) and access settings that I could not find in the Amcrest SmartHome iOS app.

Parallel to the ASH26-W, the Dahua LincX2Pro floodlight model is IPC-L26N, and the Lorex floodlight model is V261LCD-E. Lorex lists both the V261LCD-E floodlight camera and the B451AJD-E doorbell camera in the Fusion line. I think Lorex Fusion and Amcrest SmartHome both are versions of Dahua LincX2Pro. All these links are my longwinded explanation for why I hope the AD410 (and Lorex B451AJD-E) might finally be good resolution doorbell cameras that support the good backend protocols.

I found ports 554, 5000, 8086 and 35000 open on the B451AJD-E. 554 is RTSP. 35000 is configuration ( https://dahuawiki.com/FAQ/P2P_Troublesh ... t_TCP_Port ).

I streamed from it to VLC and to Blue Iris using RTSP port 554. I could not connect to the speaker of the B451AJD-E from the Blue Iris phone app.

I accessed it with the SmartPSS desktop application using port 35000. I have used port 37777 with Amcrest and Dahua. Many settings not available in the Lorex Home app were there. I also used iDMSS Plus and DMSS on my phone to access the doorbell. The B451AJD-E became flaky, though, about talking from my phone through its speaker with iDMSS Plus and DMSS. I could not add the B451AJD-E to Amcrest ViewPro using port 35000.

I do not know what ports 5000 and 8086 are although I gather from some Lorex documents that 5000 is for remote viewing.

I could not find a web interface to the B451AJD-E.

I like it overall, but I expect the AD410 implementation to be better. I expect Amcrest's version to work with the Amcrest phone apps, and I hope that the Amcrest apps and Blue Iris will be able to access the AD410's speaker.

That's good news that you have confirmed RTSP support in the new 2K Lorex doorbell. Surely the AD410 will also retain this essential feature. Thanks for posting!
