Hello all,

Thank you for your feedback and I will bring these issues to the attention of our R&D team. Those who are experiencing issues after the update, please try hard resetting the camera and this should fix most of the issues you are facing. We know this is not the best solution but it is surely working on our test devices without any issue.

:cry: So I made the mistake of upgrading the firmware and now I cannot access the camera via the web interface -- it gives a 404 not found error -- it's only accessible via the IP Config utility. I've done the factory reset several times and it doesn't revert the firmware. My other camera on which I did not update the firmware is working fine.

come-on amcrest ... your systems, protocols, Q-control, etc. are/is BROKEN.

try :
a) clear browser CACHE
b) log into your router : review the Client List to verify Cam's IP
c) Refresh/Reboot your router
d) try Cam browser login from another PC

Hello cortex ,

If you are getting 404 error on the browser login to the camera on IP config tool. Manually download the firmware from https://amcrest.com/firmware. Go the firmware upgrade option in the config tool after logging in select the firmware
file and update. This should fix the issue.

Is there a way to restore the old firmware??
It doesnt let me save changes to record schedule options (it says "save failed"),plus when i try to make changes to event motion detection schedule, i dont see the option "save" active,it cant be pressed to save because its not active.. Regards

  • _ this is a LEGACY issue in how AMCREST records audio to MP4 video files ...
    _ since B4 Qtr4-'15, cam's MP4's did NOT playback audio using the high-quality encoding {G.711}
    _ I did NOT complain since DAV files did record quality audio.
Since Amcrest chose to disable DAV files with this F/W,
we must live with their crippled application of the MP4 file creation
hint : try the Audio encode : AAC to rcrd/plybck audio

Although, in "live" mode, one can hear CAM-audio in browser-interface ...

I upgraded my IP2M-841W and it seems to be stuck on the red light now. I tried doing the factory reset but it never goes from red light to green. It just stays RED and never pan/swivels to notify completion.

Did this firmware brick my device? It was working fine for the past month ugh.
Is there any other way to recover this device?

I submitted a ticket via support but have gotten no replies yet...

Unfortunately it looks like it has crashed. You can get this replaced. I believe our support team will soon respond to your email.

Thanks oldtechy, posting this here for others to see:

I did a hard reset with the button in the back, and this problem went away. It works fine now. Strangely enough, this did not revert the firmware version. I am still using the latest, but had to just re-enter my settings. All is well now, so if you're having trouble, try the hard reset.
