I have IP2M-844EW and IP3M-956EB
It tells me that it is POE but not if it use 802.3af. Nothing in manual nor box!
Can anybody confirm me until I buy a POE switch and it will not work or burn up?
Thanks
IP2M-844EW POE is 802.3af ?
Re: IP2M-844EW POE is 802.3af ?
If you don't already have a POE switch I would personally buy a POE+ switch.. The POE camera will only take the AF if that is what it supports.. The Switch and camera will nogeight what the power needs when you plug in the cameara..
Don't want it to blow up. Make sure not to use CCA cabling anywhere in your setup going to any POE device..
844 and 956 both are POE devices and only require af format..
Here is the Tech data for the 844 in that pdf you will notice at the bottom it does say that it is an AF format camera.. https://support.amcrest.com/hc/en-us/ar ... -IP2M-844E
Here is the data for the 956 again down at the bottom it says AF
https://support.amcrest.com/hc/en-us/ar ... -IP3M-956E
Hope this info helps.. Keep in mind that if you are just starting out in the IP land of cameras and don't have any switch no need to buy an AF and later find out you should have bought a AT format aka POE+ Switch. Again the camera and switch will only take/give what it needs.. Just don't buy a 24v POE switch as there are some companies out there that sale them for thier own products..
