So, this is my 11th case opened with Amcrest without resolution, so try some luck here.
Case is: the NVR is set to pre-record 10 secs for motion detection, which work as expected if playback on the NVR itself or using the application, however, if I go to the NVR using browser (tried edge, chrome and safari), all the same effect, the playback skip the pre-record time and 1-2 secs from the motion detection itself
So, suppose is night and is lightning ... suppose a lightning occurs exactly at 11:00:00pm ...
If playback that motion using the NVR itself or the app, the event start showing 10:59:50pm and show the lightning exactly at 11:00:00pm,
however if I use the browser the event start at 11:00:01pm and don't show the lightning
I'm using the lightning as example to illustrate the fact not showing information,
I know many will say just use the app and that is it, but, not 100% of the time we will the app installed, at least not in all computers.

Re: playback using browser on NV4116E
I don't normally have mine setup for 10 seconds pre-record so after I read your thing here I thought I would check it out on my 4116E-HS and so I was guessing that you were also talking about the HS seeing you said you tested on Edge, Chrome and Safari. HS is only one I know that works with that..
So I know I know if you wanted to use IE you could have but can you test out your testing using IE? As sad as it is, I use IE because it is only Browser that really works with DVR/NVR's and IP cameras as expected. I did my Testing using IE and my playback works as expected.
Also how are you loading your playback? You doing from the list on the right or the Timeline below the window? I did my testing from the Motion history on the right and started as stated 10 seconds before event and played out without issue..

Re: playback using browser on NV4116E
So after some more testing I can confirm that using Firefox and Chrome it starts at the time on the time line not the Pre-Record time like IE does. So it seems while it is sad that the Devices act this way with Chrome and Firefox and while I didn't say edge I also used that for testing however in truth Edge is really just Chrome for Windows is the way I look at it..
IE is only one that works as expected and again another let down by the use of Chrome Devices. It has been 2 years going on 3 since Chrome has been used for JS devices why is it so hard for things to work in them as expected.
At Least Amcrest devices work in Chrome and Edge, I have a different machine from another company that Chrome don't work in only in playback even though they boast about it being Chrome enabled device, lol Lucky for me it still works under IE..

Re: playback using browser on NV4116E
Sorry the delay on the reply.
I only record motion and alarm and I use the list of files on the left side
It works on the IE.
But it required the Amcrest plug in, so I believe the plugin itself is handling the timeline.

Revo, you wrote:

Using Chrome with the JS camera Web UI on my PC, Playback does not work for SD card. Error message says "Online playback is experiencing issues, please download to view clips. Alternatively, try using our Amcrest Surveillance Pro desktop software," JS Web UI also loads camera video stream slower than IE.
I think the reason why IE is faster and works better is because of something I read a few years ago. It said the reason why IE camera Web UI used ActiveX when first released was because it was the fastest way to handle video between camera and browse. That may still be true today. It's probably a reason why many IE features are not in JS Web UI.

Re: playback using browser on NV4116E
I believe Amcrest software developers use Javscript to write their programs. Trying to view the NVR video with a browser does not go smoothly. Take a look at this article... https://www.enablejavascript.io/en/how- ... t-explorer I think IE is the only browser which still supports Javascript.
