This is a Different one... IF I remember right this one is 202828 the old one was 200828 and sadly the ones that got the update the first time have not had an offer of the FW yet GRRRR and I wait for something better as MOTION isn't working at all...

The new firmware version is V1.000.00AC006.0.R.20200828, so its different and new.

I'll wait an see how it goes for others before I jump on this.

aww Thanks.. I didn't bring up the app to see on my 702 I just had a guess there was a 2 in the new one Sadly not even being offered at this time to my first one on 828 I was in hope that it would be offered to the ones that already updated to see if it cured the issues we had from the first Release.. My guess this one might get pulled again.. Hope it is complete and used however from what I have seen from others that took the FW update is that the Grid is still gone.. All I know is mine goes off to everything going by in my street 30+ feet away from the road and having 100+ alerts a day is not good.. SO Motion on App is off just keep it recording full time and call it a day...

Happy weekend to all and hope all have a great week to come...

The version naming scheme for all previous firmware releases included at the end, the date of the build - in yymmdd (200828) format. So does this latest release, but now the format was altered to yyyymmdd (20200828).

Apparently Amcrest re-released the tweaked Aug 28 firmware to correct whatever was the cause for them to recall it a month ago. My support ticket requesting an explanation of the recall and the reason for changing the Motion Detection UI was supposedly passed to R&D but was never answered.

There are undoubtedly some positive things about this latest update but with the Motion Detection apparently being practically useless (according to reports here and elsewhere) it sure sounds like the bad outweighs the good. Add to this additional reports of losing local RTSP connectivity (via NVR, BlueIris, Home Assistant) during the last cloud outage - this is a no go for me.

Hi @amcrest168. Ok, well it's good to know your motion is working OK. I've seen reports that it's either not working at all or its creating far too many false alerts. At this point, all we can do is try to determine a consensus on the severity of issues and/or what is working better than before.

You would think that if there was a serious enough issue with 200828 that forced it to be recalled that it would be beneficial for those that already installed it to be updated with the fix. So I wonder if there was nothing fixed and this is the exact same version? Could it be the problem was "bandwidth" on the download server and it took a month to upgrade it?

I have been toying with the idea of doing my last 702 to the new 828 to see what is different in Config backup but I am worried that something that works in Motion where my 828 I have now don't I am glad to hear that Amcrest168 says his does but wonder if they did a Factory Reset after the FW update and is truly working off the 702 grid?

IF we remember my First Reset after the Update 828 didn't take and when I did a Backup Config it was still showing the Grid nubers now in my backup they are not showing I infact did another Reset a few days ago as well..

Yeah I am so lost lol... So I had it turned off VIA the app toggle because it just goes off and off and off and I thought ok lets see if there is any change in Camera config after making some adjustments in my NVR ODD... Oh and now it is ringing again for every car that goes by again.. Not changing anything in the Camera APP just in my NVR and I have the GRID only like I had it before the update from 702 where it worked most of the time... Lights coming around the corner or something Direct to the Camera it would false most times it was fine.. 5 cars gone by since adjustment and 5 alerts and now a 6th one where someone coming down hill but didn't turn to drive pass my house but the lights coming down the hill set it off...

So did the update on the 22nd, the drop at 14:41 is the update, as I like many have had ‘power’ issues and just a few too many notifications, at first I still had the old grid system, left night vision on auto, notifications were reduced but come dusk it had the usual reboot loop for 45mins, then fine, hasn’t missed a beat or dropped since. And it now shows the 3 zone motion set up. Weird but that’s 2 nights and it’s not dropped yet.

Thanks @Danual for sharing your experience with the latest update. Fixing the night/IR reboot issue was expected, so it's good to hear you confirmed it.

For anyone who is curious about the graph Dan posted - that is from Home Assistant's event history log. All those thin vertical lines show a change in state. The top red bar I believe is showing motion detection events, which probably far too many. The second "Connected" bar is showing the AD110 online status (green) and the red lines are when it has gone offline.
