Shadows setting off motion alerts

I have been getting motion alerts when a shadow crosses over my motion detection zone. One example is early in the morning when a truck drives by and casts a shadow over my porch. Another is at night, the flag I have hanging on the house waves and while the flag itself does not cross through the zone, the shadow it casts on the ground from the porch light does and sets of a motion alert.

I'm guessing there is no way to deal with these false alerts other than shutting off motion detection. Is Amcrest working on this somehow?

have you tried reducing your motion detection areas? another way is to leave some or more squares out to help minimize sensitivity. having solid blocks selected appear more sensitive. you just have to keep reducing the number of active squares until you find the sweet spot especially on areas where shadows cast and headlights shine.

in my case, i have reduced mine down to 8 squares as a block and 4 scattered squares before finding the sweet spot.

HUH amcrest168 you have different FW on yours now? I thought yours was the Half Moon again like mine? for the AD110??

@Revo2Maxx no i'm still on the 200828 with the 3 zone view but i didn't make any change to my motion detection setting. i believe KarlHungus53's doorbell is still on a previous firmware because he's able to see the shadow over his active motion detection areas. can't see the outside with the 3 zone half moon view.
