New user of multiple IP8M-T2499EW-28MM (and 40MM)s. Am transitioning from analogue DVR so currently just running AVP iOS on a iPhone 7+ and some iPads (iOS 13.5.1). Motion detection on any camera only pushes a notification with a recording on the front entry camera such that e.g., if motion is detected at the side gate, a notification is sent but since the “recording” is for channel “IPC” which is associated with the front entry, no recording is brought up when the notification is clicked on.
I am able to customize the channel names in the direct ip GUI for each camera by connecting to each camera via its respective static ip address, and assign the channels in the motion detection notifications menu of the direct GUI, and those channel names show up correctly on each camera as an overlay (in the lower left of each live view screen)...but, in the iPhone AVS the only notification channel for each of the cameras remains “IPC” which I believe is channel 1, AND FRUSTRATINGLY CANNOT BE CHANGED! The correct names and notification channels also show up correctly in the iPad AVPro app. Also, if the motion is detected on the front entry cam, then it records properly and I can just click on the notification and can play both the motion capture clip and/or the snap shot burst as it is on channel 1 or “IPC”.
I’m either missing something here, am doing something wrong, or the AVPro app has some fundamentally serious flaws? I’m hoping it’s just me, lol, and someone can educate me on how to resolve this issue.
I’ve picked up a lot of great info in this forum and hope to learn more. TIA to all for any help.
iOS View Pro notification recordings
Re: iOS View Pro notification recordings
@moh Hello and Welcome to the Forum
The issue I am going to guess is that when you setup your cameras on your APP that IPC was what the Camera was called... I see that changing out the camera with a different camera on my NVR over the APP don't change out what the Camera name is on the app however on my NVR it shows the right name... So to Correct this and I am not one to happy to have to do so seeing I have a good few cameras setup in my app.. However Removing the camera from the app and re adding them seem to make things work now that is for my NVR again so I am going to guess that each camera that has the wrong name... Now I don't know how your using Amcrest View Pro as I know there is Single view and Multi View.. I only use Multi View for my NVR and DVR's However to make things even worse I have each Camera added into my APP and I can view only 1 at a time...
Now for what I don't like.. I have on one of my NVR's my 4108 setup to push motion from my Stairs to my phone then what is odd my Stairs show up on my NVR when I check the footage as Ch1 and Ch8 because it is really CH8 on the NVR but some odd reason I have to close and bring it back up to see all 8ch that I have on that one.. I have not but I should test my 16ch NVR see if it has same issue and if not maybe change out my Stair Cam to other NVR lol...
So I would remove the camera and setup again in your app and see if the name is right then.. I have had a couple of times that my camera will show IPC under the name and can't get that out without resetting the camera that is a PITA...

Thank you so much for your suggestion and detailed explanation and rationale! I finally got a chance to try out your suggestion and deleted and re-linked all my cameras from the app and now all is GOOD. Although each notification still comes up with the label “channel 1” regardless of which camera initiates the motion detection, the video specific to the “triggered” camera shows up properly now and the correct channel names show up on the overlay for each live view. I’m assuming that since I’ve ditched the old analogue DVR until I get a replacement ip NVR (I’m also waiting for a new Camect device to arrive) and am temporarily just storing to the microSD on each camera, that the microSD’s are designated “channel 1” on each camera. Thank you again for the welcome and your prompt and detailed reply. You exemplify the best of forum membership! Much appreciation!

Re: iOS View Pro notification recordings
Thanks for the update and glad to hear some is working.. While I don't pay much mind to Ch1 and all that seeing I have so many cameras and I just go over the data as a timeline for something I might need to reference to in one of my units...
Anyway people are here to try and help others as needed... If you have a extra computer in your home that won't take to much to run full time you could always setup that computer as a FTP for your cameras to send data to as well.. Maybe have the FTP as a Data collection set for motion when you come home from work or play you can log into the FTP server and look over the pictures or clips however you would want to setup and if there was something that needed more attention you could refer back to it... Another thing if you have a good enough extra computer you could maybe setup ASP with PC-NVR and have it recording 24/7 with motion collection to your MSD until you get a NVR... There are loads of options out there some might be better then others...
