ip8m-2597 setup

Post by garypsu67 »

There is no option for 30fps in setup - even at 1080P. Also, when I choose H265 compression it reverts back to H264H when I check settings after saving. Any ideas?

You have them setup to the Cloud? Only thing I can think is the Cloud that don't do 265 is changing it back to 264?

Your camera if your looking at the right model should be 4K (3840x2160) @30fps if you can't get it in there If it was me I would contact Amcrest Support over Email or call them... Might have to Reset, or maybe even dl a new FW I am not sure... I know that my CVI DVR I know is something different but I had to update the FW before I could get the IP channels that the website said it had the ability for.. Before it didn't matter because I was only using for 4 CVI cameras on my Garage but after I move the unit put a different one there I wanted IP. Spent a day looking for things when I noticed the FW was older put in new and there was my 2 IP ch.. Just an Idea if older FW then the current...

My IP8M-2597 has 30fps at 4K and 1080P, something is messed up with your cam, do a factory reset should take care that.

My only problem - the video is choppy at 4K/30fps in Synology Surveillance Station with Chrome, however the same is smooth in Firefox.

I did a factory reset and then attempted to re-enter my previous settings and discovered the problem. By trial and error I determined that in the Camera configuration, if I set the BLC mode to WDR I was I NOT able to set the Video to more than 25 FPS. When BLC mode was off, I was able to set 30 FPS. Either the software has a glitch or the Camera can’t handle 30 FPS with a Wide Dynamic Range setting.

I also find that my H265 compression setting reverts to H264 by itself for some unknown reason. Any ideas?

That could happen if some other program or app is changing it. Amcrest Cloud is one example. Some home automation app would be another.

@garypsu67

like jack7 said this very well could be because the camera is connected to another device/service. An NVR could act as parent to the device and change settings with in the camera. When the camera is connected to the cloud it acts the same in may aspects, The cloud will only be able to use certain settings and will change them in the camera to make sure it has a good connection without video loss.

If you have any other questions or concerns please let us know.

Thank you both! I don’t use an NVR, just FTP to my web site, but I do use other camera viewers.
