Someone at Amcrest needs to fix this. NOW!!

Post by DanNeumann »

This DVR system has to be the biggest POS I've ever owned!! I just got back from being out of town for 6 days and while sitting in my office my DVR has rebooted itself 3 friggin' times in the last 5 minutes. My office is currently 60 degrees and the DVR sits on the top shelf of a shelving unit all by it's self so it's not restricted from airflow in any way. This thing is getting close to being thrown in the trash and I'll flip for a new unit from some other company. I think Amcrest owes me a phone call or email instead of me having to waste more of my life on this POS!!

352-629-1118 or [email protected]. Email is the better option.

Amazing how Amcrest technicians completely ignore my posts. IMO this shows they don't care about Customer Service, only selling product and making money. They've answered several threads on here but continue to ignore mine. I'm done! Will never recommend their products and will make sure everyone knows what junk they peddle.

Calm down man. Forums are for users to communicate with each other. You should be thankful Amcrest Support frequents this forum at all. How bout try calling the Amcrest support line for your issues instead of commenting on a random forum?

Amcrest created this forum so they should frequent it. It's why it a "Tech" forum. It wasn't started by some outside source. It's theirs! I've made several posts about the problems I have been having which is the same as many on here but my posts seem to get overlooked. I own and operate a small business all by myself so I don't have time to sit on a phone for hours to try and sort this stuff out. Email or this forum I can be quick and to the point without wasting tons of my valuable time. Time is money in my life.

Today alone my DVR has rebooted 2 times and now I have a camera getting all flickery. I've unplugged the cameras for a few moment and plugged them back in but that one is still acting up. Prior to buying this system I had a cheap Harbor Freight system. The picture quality was no where near as nice as this system but overall that system worked flawlessly for 4 years. Only a close lightning strike messed it up once.

I wonder if your customers act like this, so you feel it's ok to act like this....

If you don't like the product, just get something else, the world doesn't coddle people. Running a business myself, I learned that pretty quickly, what's your excuse?

For those who might read this thread and wish there was a solution, and got far enough down to see this post.... here is a link to an amcrest page that addresses the reboot issues: https://amcrest.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/ar ... explained-

Invest in a 4amp power supply instead of the 2amp power brick they supply. With the included power brick I kept getting reboots. With the 4amp laptop power brick, it's been reboot free for a year and counting.

I'd recommend you take a look at this thread below.

It seems a lot of the NV4108s are trying to do a required firmware upgrade, failing, and reboot looping. I've put some info in the other thread and opened a ticket with Amcrest directly ... I also pointed them to that thread so they could see what I found and what others are confirming.
