I have four IP2M-851E installed with the latest firmware (dated 27-apr-2018). They are configured with motion detect to take snapshots and send them to my FTP server. Lately I notice some of the IPCs stopped taking the snapshots but I notice on my FTP server log that they are busy deleting files and directories. WHY ???
I do not have any setup to delete files (or old files). Below some example from my FTP server log.

I changed the ftp login id to not have del access, but they keep trying and trying and still not taking any snapshots even after restarting the IPCs.
It is a major problem for me as I needed those files and snapshots. Please help.

While checking the FTP log I also notice the IPCs doing this a lot for some reason:

Re: IP2M-851E deleting files on remote FTP
I don't use FTP, but it sounds like your camera thinks that the FTP storage is full, so it stops sending photos and starts deleting files to make room for new ones. You could check your camera Setup-Storage-Record Control-Disk Full setting Overwrite/Stop and see if it applies. While in Setup, you could go to Information-Log and see what is there in the time period of interest.
Your second post: Maybe the camera is getting file lists to find files to delete. There has been a problem in the past with the 2000-01-01 date. Here's one thread.

Re: IP2M-851E deleting files on remote FTP
Ah ok. The IPC must've thought the disk was full even though there is plenty of space (more than 20 TB of it). My thought is the internet connection was over saturated and it could not connect to remote FTP. The logic assumed disk was full somehow. Anyway, the disk full option was set to Overwrite so I changed it to Stop. It seems to help. Thanks for the tip.
As for the 2001-01-01, I turned on NTP and use pool.ntp.org port 123. It is working so far. I'm curious how it'd handle power outage. We'll see.

Re: IP2M-851E deleting files on remote FTP
Good to hear it's working better. If you want to see when you get disk full events in the camera, you could try this. Go to the Live screen page upper right and click Alarm, Disk Full, Save. Check the log there later.
Re: IP2M-851E deleting files on remote FTP
I have Disk Full checked since the beginning but never get the alarm. I only get the alarms for Disk Error and No Disk.

Re: IP2M-851E deleting files on remote FTP
Looks like I spoke too soon. Now it's doing it again, Or at least attempting to delete some files from 5 days ago. But getting 550 CWD Failed, message: "Directory not found" on the FTP log. Because the file/directory were already deleted when I wasn't looking. I think there is something wrong with the FTP logic and needs to be addressed.

Re: IP2M-851E deleting files on remote FTP
At least this time it is still taking snapshots as configured and put them on the remote FTP server. So it seems there is runaway process that delete files and directories for some reasons.
