Hello jjmucker ,

We have introduced several features based on customer feedback. Please do leave the feedback through the Amcrest app as well.

Amcrest, are you listening? A separate day/night profile definitely needs to be implemented for sure. If you set the sensitivity/threshold when it's pitch dark at night, so that it does not false alert, the same settings during the daytime will not motion alert at all when a person walks right in front of the camera. If you set it to work reliably for daytime, you will get a barrage of false alerts at night. The best overall setting I have tweaked is 60 Sensitivity and 8 Threshold, but again, this will false alert way too much when pitch dark at night.

Hello all,

Could you please provide the model numbers and firmware versions of the affected cameras?

IP4M-1028E

same thing. I had 300 emails showing me it rained last night. It's setup to work properly, and catches everything during the day that it should, but just motion triggers like crazy during night mode.

Hello all,

Yes, a day / night sensitivity profile would be great. Head lights from cars trigger so many false alerts that I record 2/3 of the night, but if I adjust the setting, then it records nothing during the day.

Hello all,

We escalated this issue to our R&D and got the below response.

"Actually we adopt different profiles internally on day/night to avoid false alarm, the algorithm is self-adaptive based on the illumination intensity and time so we did not provide toggle or threshold to users as it also might be confusing".

We have submitted the requirement to R&D team but could you please also send us some video footage to analyse so that we can optimize our algorithm?

This is driving me crazy as well.

Either I pick up almost nothing during the day, or record +90% after dark...

HELP!

All on latest firmware as of today.

Thanks,
