How do I get a colored picture instead of black and white?

The night vision is black and white. Are you getting black and white image at day time too? In that case you can turn of IR from the web interface of the camera from setup > Camera > Configuration.

Check if the night vision might be auto enabled in settings. Also, the LED's might be unclean or not working properly. Plug your camera and in settings, you will find an option for disabling or enabling night vision. Ensure it is set to "Auto." Follow the guides on the troubleshooting page to fix or clean the LEDs.
