Enable Audio Recording?

Post by hawkeye62 »

Can audio recording be enabled on a 4108 NVR? I have an ASH47 camera that records video on the 4108. I would like to record audio with the video.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Yes you can, go to video audio and make sure audio is enabled on both main and sub channels for the camera in the nvr.

I login to the NVR 4108. I click on "Management" at the upper left, then I click on "Camera", then I click on "Encode". Audio Enable is checked. Audio format is "AAC". Both Mainstream and Sub Stream. BUT, no sound is being recorded.

IF POE connected camera, make sure you are using IE or IE mode in Edge, Click on the camera page, THen the e for the camera in question. If you do this in Chrome or Edge normal make sure you pick the wrong POE camera first because it will give you a connection error. Anyway log into the camera and double check that the camera is enabled for audio. Shouldn't have to be sounds like your camera might need to.. Then in the Cameras WebUI page for live view check that it works in the cameras own live view if there is on audio confirm that the camera has a MIC or one installed and has power to it if external Mic..

The camera is an ASH-47, no POE. Should I use Smart Home to login to the camera?

I can't hear anything! I went through your procedure several times. I even went within 3 feet of the camera and said "test" several times. My wife said she heard nothing.

First, I would do a factory reset of the camera. It might be that something happened and the loading of the software has caused this to fail. I know this can be a PITA but at times over time a reset is what is needed to restore things back to how we expect them to function. What connections are you making with the camera? I have mien connected to Blue Iris, 2 NVRs and from time to time it connects to a Hikvision DVR when I give it access to the same Vlan. Just never removed from the device as I don't look at it often these days lol..

My ASH-47 is just connected to a switch via ethernet, the switch is connected to my router which is connected to a cable modem. I have a fairly simple network, just one router (not wireless), two wireless APs, four switches and six cameras.
