Well, they didn't prove me wrong yet, but here's just a quick added note for anyone still curious.

Care for a mostly glitchless stream from it? Use MJPG @ 720/30 and hit up this address with VLC/ffmpeg/etc:

Code: Select all

http://admin:pass@amcrestcamip/cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi?subtype=0
(Keep in mind the quality isn't exactly mind-blowing either and uses a ton more bandwidth to hold a better [read: less blocky] output. It's not perfect, but it's better at least.)

You can also see the above line used in the SDK PDF they have posted here:
(Page 12 --- 4.1.4 GetVideo)
https://s3.amazonaws.com/amcrest-files/ ... DK_API.pdf

I'll be using the two cams tonight on my stream to cook a few things (blue apron stuff!) if anyone's interested to see it in action. (twitch.tv/draco)

I have an Amcrest camera and I try to install it in my kitchen. Last year, I bought a 15" TV with the HDMI port form the website: gecey.com, 15" TV. I try to use the 15" TV as the monitor for the Amcrest camera. I hope everything will work well.
