I think they're either in denial or anger. I'm waiting for either bargaining or acceptance before we get any resolution.
Re: Can't change device name after firmware upgrade
I can confirm this issue is NOT fixed in the new firmware that was just posted, V2.400.0002.15.R dated 4/26/17.
To be fair, it wasn't mentioned in the changelog.
How difficult could fixing this be? Give me the source and I'll fix it....

I attached a screenshots for all of the dipshits who don't believe us. This still hasn't been fixed. I'm on the current firmware version as well. So far I've tried in Chrome, IE, and that god awful excuse of a chrome plugin. Now that we can proof can you Amcrest fucktards get back to work and fix my super expensive 4mp camera firmware?

Re: Can't change device name after firmware upgrade
Hi, is there any update on this thread? I just purchased two IP3M-943 cameras and one of them has this problem, the other does not. And, what is the date of the old fimware to roll back to to fix the issue? Then once the camera is named, can you then update the firmware to current and the name will stick?
And, as a follow up - I tried to roll back to the 3-28-17 firmware and it didn't help at all. Is there a version older somewhere that we can get to?
Thanks!!

Same issue as mnjclark. Two 954E cameras, same FW version. On one i'm able to change device name and on the other i'm not.
Re: Can't change device name after firmware upgrade
Have the exact same problem with 2 different cameras:
IP3M-956B:
Software Version2.400.AC02.15.R, Build Date: 2017-07-31
WEB Version3.2.1.422026
ONVIF Version2.42
IP3M-943B:
Software Version2.400.AC02.15.R, Build Date: 2017-07-31
WEB Version3.2.1.422026
ONVIF Version2.42
After upgrading to the latest firmware (see version above), it's not possible to change the camera name.
To make sure it's not a front-end (web gui) issue I also tried to change it directly through API call:

Error

Re: Can't change device name after firmware upgrade
I'm having the same problem. Sure would be nice to see an Amcrest support person actually jump in and respond to this very simple yet very important concern.
Re: Can't change device name after firmware upgrade
They told me to RMA the camera for $15.
