Hello
I get hundreds of emails every night due to bug storms. Sometimes the picture is so bad it almost looks like a white out. I live in San Diego which is not a high bug location like some places in the south or back east.
Why do the bugs seem to love the camera? Is there anyway to stop this? Hate to turn off emails but not sure I have any choice

Re: Bug storms
Hi Toy4Rick,
This may be due to motion sensitivity settings of the camera, Please adjust your sensitivity and threshold values it will fix the issue.

Re: Bug storms
Hi Melvin,
I have my sensitivity down to 50 and 55% respectively, how much lower can i really go and still get reliable detection?
What are the bugs so attracted to the cameras? I have had other camera and never this kind of problem
What threshold value are you referring to?

Re: Bug storms
Are you sure it's caused by bug swarms? Dust particles, pollen, etc. in the air close to the camera lens and IR(on) can look like a swarm.

Hey Jack7
Yeah, like 99% certain. It only happens at night and in the playback videos it's pretty obvious

Re: Bug storms
some bugs are attracted to IR (mosquitos, beatles, i would guess others) depending on the ir wavelength used in these cameras may be why you see it on these vs others. Not the answer you want to hear, but you can shut off the IR in the camera and use an external ebay "ir illuminator" and move it further away from the camera so they attack it instead.
