Yeah. I agree. The funny thing is that I have an IP2M-842 right next to it facing a little left and no halo.

Thanks. I tried messing with BLC without success but when I turned Night Vision off, the ring went away.

Use your router to communicate with quickddns. This section is not for accessing the camera. I'm also assuming you already have an account with quickddns or you wouldn't be asking. You'd go broke trying to us a SSD. A laptop is probably a bad idea. You'll need several terabytes of storage. Also, an "old" PC probably doesn't have enough computing power. Are you thinking Blue Iris?

You can't. What's the big deal? Just add another admin account. Most devices are set up this way. I have a $200 Dahua camera and the admin account is "reserved". Add an account and move on.

My guess is that Amcrest is rebranded Dahua. I've gotten Amcrest cameras to work on Q-See NVRs (Dahua). I'm not familiar with Axis but a blank screen without errors usually means a resolution conflict. Can you access the cameras settings from the NVR?
