Re: Keeping camera on Lan only

That is precisely what I do for my 3 IP cameras and I make doubly sure by using two approaches. Firstly in the setup for each camera on the network, TCP/IP screen of the Web UI I set a fixed IP address (as opposed to DHCP) so the camera doesn't obtain correct parameters after a reboot. I set a non e...

Re: Looking for a better choice for weather application

It's not a real answer but you might be able to improve things using your existing camera in two ways. Firstly by levelling it up, it's about 5° off and secondly by zooming in as the 'fish eye' effect is more pronounced when comparing the edges of the frame with the centre. The far surface of the la...

Re: Looking for a better choice for weather application

I agree with patgreen. There's a helpful table that shows how field of view relates to lens focal length here https://www.nikonians.org/reviews/fov-tables . It's a Catch-22 really, you want to see as much of the scene as possible and the wider the field of view of the lens, the more pronounced the '...

joehpd Assuming you're talking about playing back downloaded videos, then if you use VLC player, it has the ability to re-sync audio and video as described here - https://www.vlchelp.com/syncing-audio-vlc-media-player/ . It's something that I have experienced myself in the past and this has worked ...

Re: cannot get FTP test working

Can you confirm whether the FTP server is on your LAN or is it on hosted web space perhaps? If it's the latter, I'll do some testing to see whether I can get one of my cameras saving to my web site.

Re: cannot get FTP test working

The "failed" message in response to clicking the test ftp connection button is a long time problem and the result can't be relied on. I only have experience of saving to the ftp server on my NAS but the test always shows as failed for me, my cameras are saving snapshots nonetheless. When I...

Re: web play back issue

In addition to the above, it's worth noting that the .dav video files that are saved contain additional information such as time and date encoded in the file itself to make them more suitable for security camera use. Smart Play handles these files and has an inbuilt facility to save the file out as ...

Re: Surveillance Pro Font sizes

I've been in exactly this position myself and found that if you wish to drive your monitor at 3840x2160 then unfortunately there's nothing you can do to make things easier to see. I know some people might suggest using Windows scaling settings but in the past I found that causes more problems than i...

Re: Remote Reboot

Glad to hear that you have got things working again. Just as a matter of interest, is the 7 minutes measured from when power is restored at your remote site? When my power drops, it takes longer than that for my router to re-establish a connection to the internet alone. I would guess that you are ac...
