With the latest FW - I am also getting this problem.
Motion settings are as I had before. Clearly, a new bug has crept in. The camera should not sense motion when the IR filter is changed. Period.

Re: Some more bugs with September Firmware
A couple more issues: 6. If FTP has been selected for storage, there is a box where one can enable storage to the SD card in the event the FTP server is unavailable. Why wouldn't the same option be available for NAS? A NAS can be just as unavailable as an FTP server! 7. I was sad to see that the lat...

Some more bugs with September Firmware
If anyone is listening, here are a few more issues that I have found with the latest F/W: 1. Even though the DAV format has been discontinued, when storing video to a NAS, the IP2M-841 creates a DAV directory. For consistency, this should be an MP4 directory - since that is now the only video format...

Re: Preset Issues
Well, it's been FIVE months since this issue was first posted in this thread.
There has not been a firmware update since the start of the year.
I would assume that Amcrest simply isn't interested in any fixes....

Re: &com_str.alarminname
Doesn't seem to be the case for me.
I get the snapshot just fine - plus the annoying "text" string.

&com_str.alarminname
The subject line says it all.... almost.... I set up my IP2M-841 to send alarm emails - which is does just fine. But, in the text of the email, there is always the following: &com_str.alarminname I'm guessing that this is actually an internal variable - whose value should be printed - instead of...

Re: Relay and/or Alarm Electrical Spec IP2M-841
For anyone else looking for this information. Amcrest was nice enough to send me some output information. Instead of the Relay_Out terminal actually being a relay, the pin is connected to an internal transistor with a 10K pull-up to the internal 5V bus. As for the "alarm input" terminal, I...

Re: Preset Issues
The buttons do work - but it is very non-intuitive. Point your camera. Type in a preset number and push Add Point your camera in another direction. Pick another preset number and push Add. Now pick the first preset number that you picked and push Goto. The camera with Pan/Tilt to the first preset. T...

Re: Forced Firmware Update
All good points! Completely agree. I just hope that someone at Amcrest sees the wisdom in what we're writing. I bought into Amrest since their product is very feature-rich and highly configurable. It would be a shame if they mess up a good product with a few poor technical/business decisions. Let's ...

Re: Forced Firmware Update
Here's my take: Never ever, ever force a FW update. In fact, we should be able to configure the webcam so that it never, ever goes out to the net. Some of us don't use the cloud with the cams. We are running our own systems, sometimes at very remote locations and with limited data plans. (Cellular m...
