Re: NVR keeps on rebooting itself
The problem is the power adapter. It's under rated for the hardware. I switched to a 3 amp laptop power adapter and haven't had any reboots in years. The higher the amps, the better.

Re: Dvr rebooting
It's the power supply. Amcrest needs to stop sending 2amp power supplies and supply something 4amp or above. The hard drive consumes more then 2amps of power causing it to trip. I changed my power supply out for a powerful one years ago and never had a reboot again.

Re: DVR rebooting
Changing to a 4 amp power supply did it for me. It's been almost a year and a half now with no reboots.

True! If they can't keep their systems up and running, we might as well not have a surveillance system!

Re: Someone at Amcrest needs to fix this. NOW!!
Invest in a 4amp power supply instead of the 2amp power brick they supply. With the included power brick I kept getting reboots. With the 4amp laptop power brick, it's been reboot free for a year and counting.

Re: DVR Resets Automatically
*Update - After installing the cooling fan a while back, it has kept the DVR ice cold but the reboots started coming back, so I did more research and on a hunch, I looked at the power adapter Amcrest provided for the DVR. It only provides 2 amps. The hard drive alone can use up to about 3 amps at ti...
