I have a new 16 port hdcvi dvr running 9 amcrest hdcvi 1080p cameras and 2 off-brand 1080p PTZ outdoor ONVIF wifi cameras. I was not able to get this to work. I am working with support to get the motion detection working reliably. It may involve a firmware update with a new threshold parameter.

Probably not a problem if you are in a climate controlled building. The stock dvr with a single hard drive does not seem to get very hot. If you add multiple hard drives you will need to ventilate the cabinet and add a cooling fan.
