https://www.amcrestview.com/ quit working in Firefox because starting with release 52, released March 2017, support for Java is disabled. the solution to this is to use a different version of Firefox, the 32 bit ESR version. first install/update the ActiveX plugin. SOLVED
As of March 2017, firefox versions 52 and above disable support for Java.
here is the solution.

you must install 32 bit ESR version of Java. then Amcrestview will work again
