I have the same issue. The workaround doesn't seem to work for me either. Any other experiences?

For other users having trouble with GMail. Here is what solved the issue: 1. Get a wired connection 2. Login with wired ip address 3. set SMTP settings 4. Test smtp (this should work) Optional: 5. Solution for me:

1. Get a wired connection
2. Login with wired ip address
3. set SMTP settings
4. Test smtp (this should work)
Optional:
5. Remove the cable
6. Login with the wireless ip addres
7. Test smtp (this should still work)

1. Get a wired connection
