Re: Caution about installing mini PTZ

I already had this pulled out and discovered a few diodes I could test with my large test probes. They were all open. I squeezed them into a couple tighter areas and got mixed results with a couple of the smaller ones -- like over 1.0v on one -- maybe on the hot side of a cap? So does this look like...

Re: Caution about installing mini PTZ

Good information for both types of cameras. I especially appreciate your CVI response and am awaiting a newer test lead/probe kit for my meter which only has the big clunky probes. It would be great if only a diode is bad! But if so, it may simply have been doing its job of protecting other componen...

Re: Caution about installing mini PTZ

Thanks for the response. And yes, it all makes sense to me too. LOL And my question wasn't posed very well. Of course you work on cameras -- obviously. The question should have been, "Do you repair cameras for other people?" By your response above, I'll guess your answer would be, "I ...

Re: Caution about installing mini PTZ

Wow. That's pretty wild.

Is that a Dahua? And do you work on cameras?

Re: Can't Get ASH47 Active on NVR4108-HS

How do I do that? Plug a mouse into the NVR USB port and view the NVR directly with a connected monitor or TV. You're now controlling and viewing the NVR via 'console'; not through an app or browser. It will respond directly to any commands and setting changes and not need to interpret anything els...

Try it from a console login directly.

Re: Changed routers and can't connect to Wifi anymore

If the camera default IP settings are indeed set to DHCP, you should only need to power cycle them to initiate DHCP discover for new IP address assignments from the new router's DHCP server. They may need to be kick-started a couple of times before acknowledging the new network or left unpowered for...

Re: Disabling Audio recording on NVR

Let's not forget the newer XVRs that are not just for analog devices but that can also accommodate IP cameras -- most of which have onboard microphones these days whose video and audio are delivered to the DVR over the network, not coax cable. As for camera cabling itself, particularly for higher re...

Re: Disabling Audio recording on NVR

The 'copy' suggestion would only be applicable to same model cameras that shared other major settings and could be done selectively. On my new-to-me AMDV8M8-H5, 'off' is the default selection on all channels. And I'd say anyone with over 29 NVRs to manage would be open to any and ALL options for ea...

'Copy' settings wouldn't be easier? And shouldn't audio be 'off' be default?
