Re: Emails stopped working...

It turns out there is lots of discussion... and further confirmation of the fallback problem... over on ipcamtalk.com. I discovered this site just this morning (good ol' Google search). https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/email-notify.39414/page-3 Also... you'll notice numerous mentions of Dahua. Turns ou...

Re: Emails stopped working...

I was curious to compare the failing Client Hello from the camera with a working Client Hello from my local email relay server to GMail. See attachment. As you see they are extremely similar. Especially notice that blue highlighting. Both working and non-working Hellos specify Version: TLS 1.0 (0x03...

Re: Emails stopped working...

Sidenote: Anyone desperate for a temporary workaround could consider installing a free mail server on some PC in their own network... let the Amcrest send email to that... and configure that mail server to relay to smtp.gmail.com. It works perfectly here. As a purely academic exercise I even generat...

Re: Emails stopped working...

aminco is correct. I too tried SSL(465) and 'None' before diving deeper and getting focused on TLS. SSL(465) definitely also fails. So, I dove back in to get a capture of that too. In SSL(465) we again see Alert (Level: Fatal, Description: Inappropriate Fallback) as the response from the GMail serve...

Re: Emails stopped working...

This is what appears to be going on. Attachment #1 is a packet capture of an attempted connection between the camera and one of the many GMail servers. Notice the line highlighted in dark blue: Alert (Level: Fatal, Description: Inappropriate Fallback) . The explanation in Attachment #2 provides back...

Re: IPM-721S attempting connections to Amazon servers?

Just disable 'P2P' under Network/TCP/IP... selecting the P2P tab at the top of that section. That will eliminate the traffic concerning you. However, to then connect to your camera(s) from the Internet you will have to open your own inbound ports to the camera(s) and configure your own network secur...

Re: ProHD No Video using HTTPS

One follow-up to my Dec 09, 2016 9:37 pm Under Setup/Network/Connection, the line for "HTTP port" has no text to the right of its textbox (unlike some other textboxes on that page). However, if you open the context-sensitive "Help Center", that text does advise the following for ...

Re: ProHD No Video using HTTPS

RE: "Resources are limited, Failed to play video stream" This is what cured that problem for me... First... you have to be able to logon to the web interface built into the camera... but most of you seem able to do that part just fine. In other words... if your camera IP is 192.168.44.23, ...
