Re: Surveillance Pro: Black screen during playback but still kbps reading...

Not really. Like me, I doubt a lot of people will want to remove their GPU's native drivers in favor of a lower-performing "Microsoft Basic Display Driver" to make one app happy. Any app that's video-intensive like gaming will likely be unusable under the generic Microsoft display driver.

Re: Surveillance Pro: Black screen during playback but still kbps reading...

Update: Those compatibility settings no longer consistently work. However, if I uninstall the Intel UHD video driver and let Windows use it's own basic display driver, it seems to work consistently. Unfortunately that video driver is not acceptable for daily use in Windows. I think this is an issue ...

Re: Surveillance Pro: Black screen during playback but still kbps reading...

Well, I spoke too soon, even with the compatibility settings set as I mentioned them in my previous post, it's back to opening and displaying "Searching video..." for all cameras. :(

Re: Surveillance Pro: Black screen during playback but still kbps reading...

I have the same issue as MarkinGA: Whenever I launch ASP on my desktop PC (core i7-12650H, 64GB RAM, Win11 Home), it shows the "Searching Video..." message for all 5 cameras in Live View mode with black behind them. I've let it sit, but it never starts displaying. Relaunching will sometime...

Re: Choppy video playback in ASP on new PC

I will! I did run the AMD Adrenaline software and tweaked all the settings to "performance" bias, but didn't see any change. But I will try your suggestion about disabling the display adapter or removing the driver and letting it default to the basic MS driver and see if either case helps ...

Re: Choppy video playback in ASP on new PC

OMG! I finally figured this out! So, even SmartPSS wasn't running as smoothly as my two laptops, but it was better than ASP for some reason, which was really laggy. But I still wanted to figure out why a Ryzen 7 with Radeon graphics couldn't outperform a laptop with a slower CPU, less RAM, and a muc...

Re: Choppy video playback in ASP on new PC

Thanks -- Do you know which registry entries or app folders on the hard drive I would look for if I wanted to try to remove everything associated with an old installation... to start again with a "clean" installation (i.e. no remnants)?

Re: Choppy video playback in ASP on new PC

I guess the point I was trying to make was that the ability for the network to transmit, and the PC to visually process, the *amount* of data coming in for a 60fps 4K video would indicate that the network and PC should be able to process that a lesser *amount* of data coming from the NVR. If this is...

Re: Choppy video playback in ASP on new PC

Thanks -- I actually had switched the PC to wifi as a test since the laptops are both on wifi and they both run smoothly. But the same issue persisted, so that probably eliminates the hardwire connection as the cause. Also, I can stream 60fps 4K video over YouTube smoothly over the wired connection ...

Re: Choppy video playback in ASP on new PC

Thanks! I tried changing the cameras to H264, but it was the same. And they used to work fine on the other PC at H265 in ASP, so it definitely seems like something specific to this PC. I am able to get perfect playback on my laptops at the same time I'm viewing choppy playback on the desktop, so the...
