Thanks for your reply. I only have 4 Onvif compliant cameras on my system, currently, with only one camera hardwired. I have tested playback of all and have not experienced any lag at all. I've been an IT professional since 1985. You'd think this technology would be further along by now.

Try logging directly into the camera to see if the motion detection settings you configured are set. If its not set go ahead and configure it while your there and see if that works.
