Re: firefox and internet explorer plugins no longer working
Hey Melvin, do you realize that "older Firefox versions" are full of security holes? Did you really just suggest people use old, unpatched browsers. Do YOU use old, unpatched browsers? Do the employees at Amcrest use old, vulnerable versions of Firefox? Yeah, I didn't think so. "We a...

https certificate installation issues on Amcrest DVR
I'd like to install an SSL certificate from Let's Encrypt on my Amcrest 1080P HD-CVI DVR. The advantage of using a Let's Encrypt certificate is that it uses a certificate authority that is already trusted by modern browsers so https will "just work" without having to download something int...

Re: Amcrest View Pro app drains battery on S7
The exact same thing is happening to me. I just filed a tech support request. On a fully charged battery, I simply went to the grocery store for 1 hour and my Samsung Edge 7 reports that Amcrest View Pro used 18% of my battery. The app is not even visibly running (I regularly do Close All to close a...

Re: Can you prevent the loud beep when DVR starts up?
Sure enough, it does make the loud beep on an auto-restart or if restarting after a brief power outage. What a pain. Apparently this product was never envisioned to be in a home.

Motion detect zone question
When I create a motion detect zone like the one in the picture below, can anyone confirm that it's the orange area that is set for motion detection and the white area is the area that is ignored? I want to eliminate motion detect trigger from the road at the top and from the foliage along the left a...

Re: Chrome - plugins will soon be unsupported
I see that Chrome support for the plugins was discussed in July 2015 and availability for Sept 2015 was discussed. It is now Nov 2016. Are they available now? If so, where?

Web playback timeline not readable on high res laptop screen
In the web interface, the playback timeline for a HD-CVI is completely illegible on a high-res screen. When running on Firefox on a Dell XP-13 with a 3200x1800 screen, the time values on the playback timeline are so small they cannot be read. Plus, the green lines that indicate where some motion rec...

Re: How to change download video location
That is not what I asked. I know you can do that. I don't want to have to manually go to all those extra steps just to get the videos to download to the desired location. That also means I can't just use the Download button in the much less complicated screen because that doesn't prompt for location...

How to change download video location
The web interface to my HD-CVI DVR seems to default to C:\RecordDownload\ for downloading video. Since that is never the directory I'd like to download to, I would like to change the default location for downloads. Is there a way to configure that location so I don't have to manually enter a new loc...

Re: Can you prevent the loud beep when DVR starts up?
Thanks for responding. Uhhh, "not that loud" is apparently a matter of opinion. I can hear it across the entire house even when the DVR is in a closest. It's ridiculously loud on my DVR. It's comparable to a few seconds of a smoke alarm sound. I can't believe that's not configurable. If th...
