I have an Android Lenovo tablet and I’m running into this. It seems like sometimes the screen stays on but usually it turns off. Makes the app pretty useless.

I've had an ASH21 for a month. I use wifi and it works with android Smart Home app, android Amcrest View Pro, Amcrest Surveillance Pro Version 2 beta, and with other programs I have using the Amcrest rstp url. I have not used ethernet cable. I think your problem has something to with the paragraph ...

Good question. I always assumed they had some limited flash storage onboard to maintain a constant buffer. That would allow them to pull from the buffer when motion is detected to go “back in time”.

It appears the ASH21 will not open the needed ports to connect with other apps while on WiFi. I bet you will find if you connect it to Ethernet you are able to add it.

I don’t believe so. The bandwidth requirements of the cameras are pretty low from a networking perspective.

Received this camera today. When it was on WiFi I also was unable to connect with other apps. I did a port scan of the camera and nothing was open. I then connected the camera to Ethernet. Once on Ethernet the HTTP, RTSP, and 33777 ports opened and I was able to add the camera to other apps. I’m hop...
