Re: Add External Mic to NVR to Use with Camera

What little I can find on the Internet, it looks like the mic in port on the NVR needs to be enabled. But how to do that seems to be a mystery.

Re: Add External Mic to NVR to Use with Camera

The option only shows "Normal" on the NVR audio in and it is grayed out. On the camera UI web page, the audio in dropbox shows 1 option, mic in. That is the built in mic on the camera. Thanks for trying.

Re: Add External Mic to NVR to Use with Camera

"Does that Camera have a Mic IN and OUT connection on the Wire tale? Or only built in mic in Camera?"
Only a built-in mic

All of my other cameras have built in mics as well so I can't try your suggestion. Thank you.

Add External Mic to NVR to Use with Camera

How can I add an external microphone to an ip camera (IP8M-T2499EW) using the "mic in" port on the Amcrest NV5216 NVR? On the NVR, and with the audio enabled, I tried to assign audio input via Camera/attribute/audio in device, but the only option is "Normal" and it is grayed out....

Re: NVR NV5216 Alarm Out Connector

I did see that in the manual but that's not the same connector that is actually on the back of my 5000 NVR. The photo of my connector is shown above.

Re: NVR NV5216 Alarm Out Connector

Again, I appreciate your efforts. I put a vom meter on 1C and on 1N. In ALARM MODE, I get 0 volts and 0 ohms in continuity mode. When in NORMAL MODE or no alarm, I get a few millivolts (which I think is normal) and an OPEN in contiuity mode. I have to conclude that I'm dealing with a common contact ...

Re: NVR NV5216 Alarm Out Connector

I appreciate you uploading those pics! I don't know why I'm having such a difficult time wrapping my head around this. From what you are telling me, connections 1C and 1N are for an internal relay that is operated by "alarm 1 out" that is normally open? Dry contacts, no voltage?

Re: NVR NV5216 Alarm Out Connector

Thanks for the reply. I believe that you are right. I would like to find some type of documention on this. In the photo, the top connector is the Alarm Out port Information is very limited in the user manual.

NVR NV5216 Alarm Out Connector

The alarm out port, on the back of the NV5216 is labeled 1c & n, 2c & n, a, and b. what are these 6 connections representing? The user manual DOES NOT explain these connections.
