I should point out that this problem cropped up last November, cleared up, and then re-occured this November. Very odd.

Maybe setup your app to push alert for Recording error? I setup my Critical cameras to Email me on HDD error and when it gets low so I can look over the old footage before over writes and I have started Formatting them before they get full to keep down errors.. Follow up: Amcrest RMA replaced the camera as not working with the recommended SD card. They explicitly said they would not replace the camera with an older model. The replacement has not exhibited the same problems. so far, so good.
