Is there a way to set the 4108e-hs NVR to only display the substreams on the HDMI output?
I added another camera to my system and the lag is getting pretty severe. I understand the 4108 has an underpowered processor so Im trying to make due until I can find a better NVR.

It sounds like the Daylight Saving Time bug that occurs when DST ends. The software cant cope with two 2AM times so it becomes neurotic and either randomly goes offline or stops recording.
I have had good luck with reformating the SD cards and rebooting.

Look at the possibility of an issue with Daylight Saving Time.

Amcrests NVRs are notoriously underpowered. I cant imagine trying to operate a 32 channel unit on a platform that struggles with only four (at 4K resolutions). It doesnt sound like WiFi is the primary culprit but for reliability you should use Ethernet instead of WiFi whenever possible.

Maybe you could try splitting the HDMI output of your NVR.

Do you enable ANR in NVR Storage section?  When NVR HD has missing recordings, it will copy/move SD card continuously recoded files to fill in missing NVR files. Maybe that could cause a problem.
