Re: PTZ not working
TIP: For anyone out there whom knows they have a PTZ camera, enables PTZ feature in the App, sees the blue arrows when swiping up/down left/right ... YET the camera still doesn't move --> double-check the all User permissions you are using to login to the camera. Full-story: I like to create a "...

Re: VLC mosaic monitor – howto tile view of all IP camera feeds
Update is due: So my 9 feed monitoring station driven by Pi 4 and omxplayer has been working flawlessly all this time. I had wrote a small python driver script which did the math to divide my 1920v1080 hdmi screen into 9 tiles (3x3 grid), then call 9 instances of omxplay pulling the low-def streams ...

Re: IP8M-T2499EW setting
Got it, will try some more setting tonight. Like the camera for daytime but not for night time. Hope to get the setting better ,was hoping for better night time. I have several of the 2499EW turrets - love 'em. Give this a try : Log into the camera's web gui as admin, click "setup" button...

Re: POE Camera Cat6 Cable Distance?
PCRC … Unfortunately, those cheapo LED testers are simply doing continuity (resistance) measures, and pin-out order - they won’t test/reveal noise issues within the data wire pairs. More advanced ($$) testers will check for data quality. Again, since you’ve tested the runs are good via your LED test...

Re: VLC mosaic monitor – howto tile view of all IP camera feeds
Small update here - a bit of bad-news and good-news . . . So I got my Pi4 in the other day, and the above vlm configuration will not run, sadly. The VLC errors are: mmal_xsplitter vout display error: Failed to open Xsplitter:xcb_x11 module chain filter error: Too high level of recursion (3) main fil...

Re: POE Camera Cat6 Cable Distance?
I’m laying (no pun intended) 5:1 odds that your issue is the existing CAT6 home cable(s). First, forget about PoE for a moment, and just consider the data signals . . . Cat6 realistic max data transmission reliability is around 165 ft for 10mbit – which is a decent distance for most single family ho...

Re: VLC mosaic monitor – howto tile view of all IP camera feeds
I know what Kodi is, but beyond that, don't know much about the player's config options. That said, when it come to Raspberry Pi (SBC's), we have to appreciate they have limited power/resources - especially when it comes to video. That's why the omxplayer has long been the defacto on Pi systems. Per...

Re: IP8M-2496EB Destination Storage Question
I have the 2496 cams as well - all with SD cards.
On Q2 ... I've only installed 128GB cards because the Manual stated that was the max supported capacity - yet I have not physically attempted a 256 or 512 larger SD card.

VLC mosaic monitor – howto tile view of all IP camera feeds
For those of you familiar with the VLC media player, with some effort authoring a custom config file, you can create a basic mosaic view of all camera feeds at once. For those of us without a NVR/DVR, this is a handy way of getting that view-all-at-a-glance feature back . . . perhaps mounting it som...

Re: Multiple IP3M-956E Cameras do not recognize a variety of uSD Cards.
I’m agreeing with Jack7 – you might be SOL. Here’s another consumer testimonial : “There is a micro-SD slot on the camera's motherboard. It is noticeable once you remove the plastic dome. The slot is not mentioned in any Amcrest documentation (at least none that I have found) so I don't even know if...
