Re: Lightning ground strike fried my POE NVR and cameras

I also recently had a lightning strike that knocked out my cameras/NVR… for me in order to get them back up I ended up realizing in the network settings that the network test was not working.. at the time I noticed I still had alternate DNS servers… switching back to auto and two reboots of the nvr ...

Re: 863 or 1063? Anyone upgrade from older 85x to one of these

I have a question about your 1046, you mentioned they work great at night.. I’ll explain a bit. My wife ordered one of these for my birthday because I happened to have one in the Amazon cart but hadn’t fully decided yet.. so awesome cuz I probably wouldn’t have pulled the trigger on my own.. so I pu...

Re: 4216E-AI Accessing other Amcrest Recorders

So I just stumbled across this and recently posted a question about an Amcrest Poe switch… but reading this are you saying I could use my old 4108e (could have wrong model would have to dig it out again) and access those cameras connected to that from my nv4216e-ai? I didn’t even think of this being...

Re: PoE NVR -- Do I have to run Ethernet directly from camera to NVR?

So I think I understand what you said here about Front Sides/Back Sides… I ended up getting a 4 port Amcrest switch before really looking into because I assumed I could just plug it into the NVR and keep my camera network separate.. I have one Ethernet cable to my garage and kind of just figured it ...

Re: When setting up Rules on a AI DVR or NVR

I wanted to thank you for taking the time to mention this. I have an NV4216E-AI and when the face detection didn’t really work as expected (inability to crop out a face detection area) I kind of gave up on the AI features.. Your post made me take another look at IVS rules, I didn’t realize the IVS r...

Amcrest View Pro Update - lost features

With the new version of AVP on iOS you can no longer choose a time range for playback .. it goes to 24 hours no matter what .. this is a very basic functionality for a camera app. I’m not sure who thought it was a good idea to remove the ability to select a time range, but your App Store reviews are...

Amcrest View Pro iOS

Am I missing something or can you not choose a time range for playback with the recently updated iOS app?

Re: Face Detection NEEDS Ability to Mask Areas

I don’t know if I’m misunderstanding you, but the AI-NVR has the ability to do AI directly on Non-AI cameras.. it’s in the manual.. you just cannot use a “smart plan”

Re: Face Detection NEEDS Ability to Mask Areas

It is an IP8M-2496EW(non-ai) with an NV4216E-AI NVR.. I suppose you are correct I am asking a lot with the large amount of other things in the background.. I suppose I expected something like masking certain areas (like with regular motion detection) would be a somewhat standard option. I didn’t buy...

Face Detection NEEDS Ability to Mask Areas

So after playing with face detection for a few weeks it is pretty much unusable as it becomes filled with "face detections" of a house in the distance... I have tried every possible combination of min/max size to eliminate the issue and even with an max size smaller than what it is detecti...
