Re: When will the webview app be updated to support modern browsers?

Another year gone by and still no fix. Amcrest might as well consider this abandon-ware.

Re: When will the webview app be updated to support modern browsers?

@RiCK@RCS I am not sure if you have been keeping up with the progress of this on the forum or through our subscription emails. However, we have been adjusting or Firmware from the ground up using JavaScript. There are quite a few models with this Firmware already out available to use. In many cases...

Re: When will the webview app be updated to support modern browsers?

It doesn't seem they even have any official employees reading or responding to their own forum. Their strategy seems to be ignore their users until they get bored and go away.

Re: Terrible Amcrest support. Huge mistake ordering with them.

If they can push you along for enough days, your return window will have expired and they won't have to help you at all. You aren't the only person they've cheated. And thy haven't updated their plugins for more than 2 years, which are now obsolete for every browser, as well as a security risk.

Re: When will the webview app be updated to support modern browsers?

Because of the age of the API, security issues, and adoption of alternative technologies such as HTML5, software vendors began to phase out NPAPI support in 2013. Internet Explorer versions 3 through 5.5 SP2 supported NPAPI, allowing plugins that functioned in Netscape Navigator to function in Inter...

Re: When will the webview app be updated to support modern browsers?

Revo2Maxx You are incorrect. The camera has not show live video since 2018 when NPAPI plugins were discontinued. There are no up to date browsers still using this out of date and obsolete technology(NPAPI), yet Amcrest still has not rolled out an update to enable live video in up to date browsers. C...

Re: When will the webview app be updated to support modern browsers?

It has been over a year now without an update, I guess I won't be buying anymore Amcrest cameras. They don't honor updating to keep their products supported by current browser technology.

When will the webview app be updated to support modern browsers?

Firefox, Chrome, Edge, and even Safari have now phased out NPAPI style plugins.
When will this issue be resolved with an updated version?
Phone support told me 6 months ago this issue would be resolved, yet I am still waiting.

MtnTech > "Snapshot <checked> and the "3" is selected in [1,3,5] -- Help doesn't explain this setting"

This setting is the number of snapshot photos you want taken per event.

If you set it to 3 and have the email settings on, you will be mailed 3 photos per mail.
