bill_s, what model camera has the problem? Also, did you set up your mesh to have the same wifi name for both 2.4 and 5?

Actually, you didn't have to buy a static IP address. You can set a static IP address (with the router) within the camera. Click Network, click TCP/IP, click the drop down arrow next to Ethernet Card and choose Wireless. Then, on the Mode line, choose Static. Click save.

Re: Images captured at night are white with no detail
If there's not enough ambient light, then you need infrared night vision and it will only be in black and white. If there is enough ambient light, then you can turn off night vision and see color. If you must use night vision, play with the settings (Setup/Camera Configuration, choose night profile)...

Can you post a screen shot of where you are when you're trying to play the recordings?

Re: Viewing in app when away from home
I'm not a tech expert, but I believe you need to set up the HTTP and RTSP ports on the DVR (or on the cameras, not sure) and then open the ports via port forwarding on your router. That way, you can use TinyCam which I use.

It's not going to record unless there is motion. You need to set up motion detection. Click Event, Motion Detection and set it up there.

Re: Help with getting system to record when it is supposed to
Motion detection checkbox checked, record box checked, sensitivity 60, threshold 5, anti-dither 5, highlight the detection area that you want. Also, you need to tell the cameras where to record (click Storage, Destination)

Re: Blinded by burglar
Install a fake camera, hide the real camera as best as you can. This brings up a thought. We need outdoor hidden cameras. Google searching, I see that there are not many on the market.
