Have you checked the threshold and sensitivity settings at night? You know, open the desktop app and watch the motion events to see what triggers and what doesn't? I have the opposite problem. Night time CrAp triggers more events than day. A tiny speck of dust floating by will cause it to go off.

Once I forwarded my cameras ports on my router I haven't had many connection issues. I switched most of my cameras to DDNS but left a couple p2p for monitoring purposes. I didn't have any issues recently.

I had to stop using the Amcrest cloud because it kept overriding my camer settings.

Good advice Jeffry. I did similarly and haven't had nearly the problems. I also removed my cameras from Amcrest cloud

Make sure the extra/sub stream is enabled as well.

What are the Camera/Video settings set to? Are you using Amcrest Cloud?

Make sure the EXTRA or SUB stream is enabled. I went through so many connection problems and this turned out to be the root cause for me. Here is a screenshot of the desktop app - you can also do it from the phone app I believe.
