Re: Overlay Settings not being saved
I had the same problem with disappearing overlay on a new camera. I read a tip here in a forum message that worked. If you have the camera connected to Amcrest Cloud, disconnect it. That fixed my issue. Of course, it's not a perfect solution but if you aren't actively using the Cloud service then no...

Re: Incorrect Firmware Version For IP2M-841?
Nice catch - I read the release notes, but you might say I didn't comprehend them.
I'm almost wanting to try catching these elusive come-and-go menus full of other options, see which ones work. Several that I tried didn't though. Interesting waste of space on Amcrest's part.

Re: Use as bird nest cam
The birds have probably long since hatched, but here's some possible info for you. I use the IP2M-841 in a couple of outdoor locations, even though not designed for it. (They're covered and its New Mexico, rain not being one of our issues.) My 841s focus quite well, close up or far, whereas the one ...

Incorrect Firmware Version For IP2M-841?
I have a malfunctioning IP2M-841B that I'd was going to reapply the current firmware release on again. The 841B is only a couple of weeks old, and it did do the "emergency" update when I configured it. However, it sometimes freaks out and shows me menus and options not on any release I've ...

Re: At witts end with Amcrest Pro HD IP2M-841 (Black)
There's a gotcha when doing the wifi setup using the Amcrest apps. If you have both the 2.4 and 5Ghz bands in operation, it autofills in the wrong SSID. For some reason it picks the 5Ghz SSID even though the camera can't use it. I think that's why a lot of people have trouble with the wifi setup. It...

Customized Snapshot Schedule on IP2M-842
While researching how to setup a customized snapshot schedule for the outdoor bullet cam IP2M-842, I discovered a couple of issues. My reason is I would like to have a snapshot taken every 15 or 30 minutes, in addition to any motion recording. Problem is, the options for the snapshot frequency are 1...
