I have a home network with several cameras. I use an Amcrest NVR 4108-HS to record video. I use Amcrest Surveillance Pro to view the cameras. The problem I have is that sometime when I open ASP to view a camera, the video never shows up. None of the camera videos show up. If I look at the device list, all of the cameras show as online. And if I login to a camera by entering the IP address in my Edge browser, I can see the video. I am frustrated with this behavior. I don't know if the problem is with the NVR 4108-HS or the ASP. I have powered the NVR down and up with no success. I have rebooted my PC with no success. I have restarted ASP with no success. Any advice will be appreciated.

Re: Old Problem Unsolved
Where is your ASP in relation to the NVR?
If you are in the same location as the NVR, I would make sure that your NVR and ASP are connected using IP format and not P2P...
If in another location, I would double check the IP speed of both locations and make sure they are at a high enough speed to support your method of monitoring your feeds.. At some times with P2P connected devices with ASP I find I need to reboot the routers at both locations before I get a good feed. Other times it works without any issue..

Re: Old Problem Unsolved
Have you configured ASP to include the NVR? If not, add it and configure your view using cameras ASP shows as attached to the NVR. Also, what do you see when you log into the NVR's Web UI?
Re: Old Problem Unsolved
Also, make sure the stream you're trying to view in ASP is enabled on the camera. You can check it in ASP live view by right-clicking in a window and hovering over "Stream Type". Compare what you see to how the camera is configured, accessible using the gear icon in the "Devices" view (or, just change stream type and see if that works).
Re: Old Problem Unsolved
@check6 Not sure WebUI is the issue, Also the link you provided is taking the idea that the HS model is running the newer FW. The HS model is an older NVR and a lot of people are using older then 2019 Firmware and so the WevUI would use IE mode in Edge or some other IE based browser.. Seeing IE is no longer best to use Edge in IE mode. I even still use that for all the newer FW DVR/NVRs as well seeing there is options supported in IE that isn't yet supported in Chrome Edge Normal view for Amcrest DVR/NVR..
Seeing they talking about not sure if the problem is with NVR or ASP I am going to guess they are using NVR to view the cameras in ASP.. Again what is important is the format they used to load the NVR or Cammers in ASP.. Personally if using a non POE NVR, might want to load each of the IP cameras in ASP for cases like this to see if you can View IP cameras in ASP and not the NVR.. I have many different cameras setup some on POE NVRs and some on NON-POE NVRs so I will load both NVRs and IP cameras in ASP.. Like one that don't work in ASP is ASH26 so I need to use from NVR view in ASP for access. or use Smart Home Phone app to view that camera..
Most times when I am having view issues in ASP it is related to Remote devices that Router needs to be Rebooted on. Speed of Internet connection at both locations and Network connectivity is important.. If you are using a Managed Switch I would look at see if there is any errors on your connected ports for your computer and the NVR as well. If there is a lot of errors reboot Switch and or switch to a different PORT on the switch.. Also could be issue with cable that connects the NVR to the Switch..

Re: Old Problem Unsolved
Funny after I post that about not being able to view the ASH26 in the ASP. I went to look and now it comes up in ASP without any issue. Before when I would try to load it I would only get a Black Screen. Now it is working strange.. lol Oh well looks like all devices from Amcrest is working in ASP.
Also something to keep in mind. If you are using Amcrest device with non Amcrest Firmware you will not be able to load it in ASP in P2P mode only in IP mode.. You will need to use the Desktop software for what ever FW like Dahua as a case of what some people load. I would Not personally do this to any DVR that you want to keep as Amcrest because it is a 1 way trip.. Just adding this incase the issue is P2P of a not Amcrest FW device.. Only will work IP format in ASP.. Same if you happen to add a Dahua Camera in ASP.

Re: Old Problem Unsolved
Thanks for the replies! I don't think there is anything wrong with the setup. I have ASP on my laptop which I use on the first floor directly above the NVR in the basement. I also have two laptops, both show the same symptoms Everything is IP, no P2P anywhere. AND everything works perfectly except for these periods when no video shows for any of the cameras. I will try looking at the NVR next time the video fails. The NVR is on ASP. I think I have done so in the past, but not 100% sure.

Re: Old Problem Unsolved
Well this brings only 1 more thing that I can think of.. I would double check what the IPs are of your laptops that are not working at that time.. Please note that if your system is working in a multi router setup there should only be 1 NAT and 1 DHCP server to hand out the IPs. Press windows Key and R then type cmd, then type ipconfig and make sure that your IP range.. So like in my setup, I have 1 router in my network that don't share my normal local IP range but still have access to the Internet for TVs, computer, or anything that is connected to the router. However they don't have access to my main network including my Network connected printers or servers. In my case 10.0.0.xxx and or 192.168.9.xxx are 2 of my IP ranges. Without some intervention they can't talk to each other.. So if you happen to find that your normal ip range is 192.168.1.xxx and when you connect your computers if they are not connecting to that range then it might be the issue. Also make sure they are not connecting to a Guest SSID because by default they are normally setup not to share the connection between the 2 ranges..

Thanks for the reply. I have one router, three APs and 20 devices on my network. I have the router set for static IP addresses on the APs and other devices. I will double check to make sure there is no conflict.

Re: Old Problem Unsolved
OK, no IP address conflicts between 22 devices and four Leases. I don't know what a Lease is? The only other thing I can wonder about is that two of my APs are close together. Maybe I am getting a conflict between them?
