NV4116-hs camera name change
NV4116-hs camera name change
How do we change the name of the camera. All the amcrest cameras are labeled IRC. How do I change this? It is not in the camera pane with user and password. Thank you.
Re: NV4116-hs camera name change
Log into the camera WebUI. Then goto the Camera Setup, Then Camera Video tab on the left then Overlay and pick Channel Title this is also where you can take out Amcrest name from being at the bottom right is present as well... However you would pick the Logo Overlay,

Re: NV4116-hs camera name change
No what I mean is on the nvr. When you go to playback there is a camera list that has D1 cam1, D2 cam2 for all my amcrest new cams it say D3 IPC, D4 IPC. How do i change this? It’s not the overlay. It’s in the nvr s/w. Even when you open the camera in the menu and you have the list of cameras when’s adding new cameras in the bottom pane where each camera is listed with the green dots(good cameras) there is a column that says CAM name and under that column for the amcrest cameras it says IPC. How to change this?
Re: NV4116-hs camera name change
Well for my camera NVR and dvr with IP channels the NVR/DVR pulls the names from the camera.. However if you must or want to change it in the NVR then you can click on the Main Menu, Camera, then on the left side it says Channel Name it will list your names in there.. However I am not sure how that works if the Camera says IPC.. I am going to guess that it might make the change in the name for the NVR but again your screen will or maybe will show IPC?

Re: NV4116-hs camera name change
However good news is that it seems that making the Change to the name while the camera is connected also changes in the camera info as well. So when you connect a camera it pulls the info off the camera.. Just doing some testing if you make change in the NVR that Change is also Reflected in the Camera as well... While this might have been a Fluke I did unplug one of my cameras from the network. Then made change in the NVR to the camera and when I connected the camera back that camera didn't change.. It might after a reStart but I didn't try Also looking at the NVR when I remove the camera from my POE Switch aka removed power and started the camera backup on a different IP that I set while it was removed from my network that name in my NVR stayed there as well.. I make change in camera it changed in NVR as long as it was connected and again change in NVR and it changed in Camera as long as it was connected...
