I have 4 of these NVRs. They are all set to GMT-5 with DST enabled ... typical Eastern US zone. Issue is periodically they change to GMT-4. With IPC Time Sync enabled this changes the camera time by +1 which is how I notice it in Surveillance Pro. I have disabled IPC Time Sync on the NVRs and enabled NTP update on the 24 individual cameras. WAN bandwidth is not a concern, but it is far more efficient to let the NVR update each camera.
NVR minimum update is 60 minutes.
Camera minimum update is 30 minutes.
NTP <--> NVR --> Camera = 4 WAN calls per hour (1152 a day)
NTP <--> Camera = 48 WAN calls per hour (48 a day)
NV4108E-HS time zone changing
Re: NV4108E-HS time zone changing
FYI, the issue was Surveillance Pro's "Sync Time" option. It isn't time zone aware and/or is incorrectly detecting the time zone of the local PC as GMT-4. I duplicated the issue in ASP 2.0 beta. Disabling the daily time sync to all devices corrected the problem. The NVRs now hold time zone configuration and I was able to re-enable IPC Time Sync and disable NTP on the 24 cameras.
