NV4108E-A2 Hard Drive selection

Hello everyone!

Looking for someone knowledgeable about Hard Drive selection.

I bought a NV4108E-A2 NVR from a popular retail store today. The unit doesn't come with a pre-installed hard drive. The sales staff (2 of them) recommended the Seagate SkyHawk Model: ST4000VX016.

After getting home I see that Amcrest recommends a 7200 RPM hard drive, the drive I bought is 5400 RPM.

I'm looking for advice about whether this drive is compatible with this NVR? Does anyone have suggestions for a good Hard Drive for this NVR?

For your nvr and really most of the recorders at Amcrest the drive you bought will work fine. 75mb r/w speed for 8ch should be fine. Even the faster 100mb r/w of the 7200 hdd wouldn't really even be noticed. Plus the lower speed could keep hdd noise down. Seeing the light weight compact design of the NVR.
