If you open your recorders GUI and click on Playback/Search what ever one your system has. Does it show there was events recorded like this picture below?

Yes, it shows one camera with a check mark, but when I try to see the recording, I get the
same "channel has no recording" error message.

OK, more info. GUI Playback has one camera that I have been able to see Playback video. But, if I go to ASP playback, I get the error message "camera has no recording". So, it appears to me that my entire system is messed up. ASP may have issues, GUI may have issues. Maybe the 500 GB HDD has issues. I don't remember why I had it hanging around. Maybe I should bite the bullet and buy a new WD Purple HDD and start from scratch?

PS: ASP works perfectly in Live mode. I can see video from all seven cameras.

Still waiting for delivery of a new Purple WD 2 TB HDD, due on Sunday.

But I now have four cameras that work in Play Back mode. I have not been able to get the other three to work. Two are Smart Home cameras, ASH47 and AD110. The other is an IP3M-941. The 500 GB HDD fills up quickly. I have it set to reboot every night at 2:00 AM. Maybe the new HDD will make a difference? Maybe not!

So I also have Ad410, Ad110 and ash47 and 941, They are all working fine for me on my Amcrest NVRs. Some things to think about when it comes to the Smart Home products. Not saying that is what has been done, But something to look at..

First in the NVR bring up the channel under events. Motion Detection, then confirm that the NVR is enabled at the area and that Record is also checked. Problem I have for my setup anyway is that I live in a high rain, snow, humid area and at night the cameras can get some crazy motion and then I get alerts and so I will bring up the smart home app and disable the motion alerts and then a few days later when I try to look back at footage for one of the cameras I find there is none and realize that I didn't re enable it.. Ad410 I don't have that issue on seeing I use it on Ai NVR with Human detection enabled only. I do record its sub channel full time though..

OK, new WD Purple 2 TB HDD installed. Powered up and all settings that were on the old HDD showed up on the new HDD, how? Formatted the HDD and did a Factory reset. Went through startup steps, password, time zone, etc. Did a search for devices and all seven cameras were found. Did the add to 4108 and all seven cameras were added. BUT, all seven cameras have a red radio button which indicates that they are not online in the 4108. This is where I have been for two weeks. All cameras can be viewed in real time, but none can be viewed in Play Back mode. What is the next step?

If you have a Red Dot for cameras being offline.. Like the top 2 in this picture.. Then you will want to make sure that the Password is correct for the devices.. If they are not online they are not recording on the recorder..

If you are talking about the Screen being offline after a reboot then the devices is setup not to show cameras without being logged in..

My 2 cameras with the red dot I unplugged them from the recorder but same would happen if you didn't have the right password as well..

Yeah, my solution is, if a camera is offline reset the password. Most of the time that works on ASP. Not this time on the 4108. Is there any setting on individual cameras that could prevent the 4108 from recording? I wonder if my 4108 has some failure and needs to be replaced?

PS: Yes, my screen looks like the one you posted, except all seven cameras have red dots.
