I just got an NVR system and was testing it out with one camera setup before I install outside.
All was working well until I started following the steps to change settings to allow remote viewing from a laptop under the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkLmZJP_vy0
I changed the http port from 80 to 37776 (1 minute mark in video) and then the NVR rebooted.
Now, when I try to access from home computer (same network) I can't. Error is:
This site can’t be reached192.168.1.28 refused to connect.
When I try to access directly from NVR to monitor (HDMI) I get an error about changing the input timing settings to1920x1080 60 hz. The monitor is already set to that.
When I try using a VGA cable to a different monitor I get cable not connected (pretty sure that cable is good as it was from a old computer I upgraded).
Any thoughts on how to get access to continue or reset to factory? I don't see a reset button and all online support indicates I need to do a password reset to reset to factory. I can't access the screen to do a password reset.
I don't see how changing that http setting affected the screen resolution.

Hello and welcome to the Forum
So when you make the changes that you are talking about you also need to change the way you connect to the camera.. You see before when you were making a Connection to the camera it was on the Default HTTP Ip Port (80) However now that you changed it to 37776 you will want to add a :37776 after the http address.. So in your Case...

About the Rest of the Issues... One of the biggest issues that people have at times is no connection to a Monitor that is because it is not set for the Monitor setting and won't just connect without first being told what size to connect at... So you will need to log in your NVR.. Then under your Main Menu, System, Display. There you can make changes like on my Much older system that I am look at under this monitor here,, I have mine set to 1920x1080 however if I change that cable to another Monitor I have the Monitor won't display the screen. However if I lower the Display Resolution down to 1280x1024 then the system can display on the older monitor. So your Monitor needs to be at a Higher Res then your NVR is set at and able to Auto Down to the right size or it needs to be set at the Resolution it is set at to start with.
About doing a Password reset. If you click on the Forgot password it will give you a Number that you call into Support they will off that Number give you an Unlock code that will release your system. However that code isn't good forever so I wouldn't do it until you are on the Phone with Support so there is no waiting for Code.
Now on my system I keep getting locked out of one of my Recorders because I changed the Password and I guess I don't remember all that I have connected to it so now it every day locks me out for 20min unless I power it off and back on however I don't like pulling power when it is Recording it is hard for the HDD...

Revo2Maxx , thanks, http://192.168.1.28:37776/ worked like a charm and I can now access via web from laptop.
Perhaps I caused the monitor display issue. I had changed a menu setting. Under SYSTEM, DISPLAY, I selected 3840*2160@30fps as I assumed that was the camera resolution. I assume now that's the external display resolution? I changed it back and it appears OK now.
Thanks again for the quick assist!!!!

Yes that would be your Display settings there.. All camera settings would be under your Camera it self..
Glad to hear you have it working again.

Picked back up on the HDCVI - Remote Access Setup for PC (UPnP) video and stuck at the DDNS settings (2 minute mark in the video). The video shows the Domain Name field pre-filled in and states to make a note of that entry.
My screen shows the entry for Domain Name is blank as shown in the screenshot below:
