Live View Freezes

Post by YodaVader »

NV1408E + 5 Amcrest IP5M-T1277E-AI Cameras.

When I watch the live view with the Amcrest Suveillance Pro software, all but the first channel freezes after a few seconds.

If I watch the live view with the web service with Edge it works ok, even if I switch to the main streams.

Also the quality is not what I was expecting. I can not make out the license plate of my own vehilce parked in front of my house. Aprox 25' from the camera.

Here's a photo of my camera settings.

Hello and Welcome to the Forum

What is WatchU? I don't know this encoding from any of my Amcrest hardwre?

Sounds like some setting changes that have been made that isn't playing well with your devices maybe? I know some devices don't like h.265 and some don't like Smart Codec or other changes in the Codec..

I have looked at both my 4108E-HS, and my 4108-A2 and both of them don't have that encoding page that you posted for your picture? IS this some 3rd party software that you are using for Camera Management?

One of the issues with newer FW devices is they work on Chrome or Edge normal and to be honest things work better using IE. So that leaves IE mode in Edge that they have said they would support until 2029, Not that I 100% believe what MS says seeing they said Win10 was last one lol.. But yeah there could be a lot of things going wrong..

WatchU is the name I gave the NVR.

Open ASP > Click device Config > Pick your group (I named mine WatchU) > Expand the Camera Tab > Click on Encode.

PS I don't have "IE Mode" and everything was working fine at first then after a few hours it all started lagging real bad and I can't even get a picture now. I can access the NVR fine just not the cameras.

Here's a full picture of ASP with the camera settings shown.

Aww Thanks clears that up. I can't use ASP right now it makes all my cameras stop working so I have stop using it.. Well they work just the times are all wrong..

So didn't ever see the Encoding from ASP...

Personally with 1 NVR and a few cameras I would use the WebUI of the NVR and not use ASP.. Or use the NVRs GUI.. Now if you are trying to look at it remotely then that is something different and ASP can work but isn't great idea using to make changes to the cameras encoding..

Next and something that might help, If you are using this NVR from your local Network I would make sure that it is working using IP. If you are using this remotely then ASP and P2P is a way to go if you had many devices and needed 1 place to be able to access them.. So if you are local to the NVR and use P2P then that might be the issue where you are not getting good quality that you were expecting.. Remove the nVR and add back using the IP address of the NVR

If remote and have a PC at the NVRs location, I would use NGROK and setup a tunnel to the NVR and use the NVRs WebUI, It will work much better.

Next with Chrome or Edge normal the system is limited to 4 cameras at 1 time however if you use IE mode in Edge then you can stream and playback many more cameras then the limited 4 option of the Normal browsers offers using HTML5..

I figured it out.

I had enabled "Smart Codec" and apparently it causes a digital brain hemorrhage in the AI cameras. It shows up in the WebUI but not in ASP because apparently it causes problems with ASP too.

Once I was able to get it disabled on all the cameras they started working again.

Did you check if the LiveView freezes too after a few minutes?
